Meadowbrook Upsets Dinwiddie


The Meadowbrook Monarchs upset the Dinwiddie Generals 41-0 last Friday at Meadowbrook High School.

The Monarchs, desperate for a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, played well and controlled the game with their running game.

Dinwiddie struggled to get into a rhythm all night long.

The loss was the Generals first of the season, they finish the regular season with a 9-1 record. Despite the loss the Generals still enter the Division 5 Playoffs as the #1 seed in the Region.

They will play #4 seed Patrick Henry this Friday night at Dinwiddie High School. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm.

Dinwiddie “Picks” Up Win Over Hopewell 42-28


 

The Dinwiddie Generals football team moved to 9-0 and one step closer to an undefeated regular season with their 42-28 win over Hopewell Friday night.



 



 

 



The Generals intercepted 6 Hopewell passes on their way to the victory. Wilkie Cox had 2 INTs, giving him 6 now on the season. Bradley Johnson, Pierre Hawkes, Terry Harris, and Brandon Thomas also had INTs for the Generals.

 

Hawkes went back 37 yards for a TD.



 

The Generals went to the ground attack and ran for 233 yards behind their impressive young offensive line. Wilkie Cox led the Generals with 95 yards on 11 carries. Adam Morgan had 72 yards on 7 carries.



 

Morgan had an efficient night throwing the ball finishing 17 of 24 for 143 yards and 5 passing TDs.

 

Dequan Coles made 7 catches for 57 yards and 2 TDs, while Jerrel White finished with 5 catches for 67 yards and a TD.



 

The win puts the Generals at 9-0 and sets up a showdown this week against Meadowbrook for the Central District title. Meadowbrook enters the game 7-2 and 5-1 in the District.

 

The game will be played at Meadowbrook High School. The Generals will try to become the first Dinwiddie team to finish the regular season 10-0.

Generals Roll Over Prince George 42-20


 

 

WHITE STREAKS UPFIELD…

The Dinwiddie Generals used their high powered offense to take out the Prince George Royals early in their game last Monday night.

 

The Generals jumped out to a 35-0 halftime lead and scored on the first possession of the 2nd half to make it 42-0.

 

Dinwiddie QB Adam Morgan had a good night finishing 11 of 15 for 258 yards and 3 TDs despite only playing half the game. WR Jerrell White had 4 catches for 121 yards and a TD, while Dequan Coles had 4 catches for 93 yards.



 



Josh Jones led the ground attack with 71 yards on 13 carries and 2 rushing TDs. Wilkie Cox had 62 yards rushing and 37 yards receiving and caught a TD pass.



 

The play of the game may have been NG Darius Miles’ 75 yard fumble return where he ripped the ball right out of the Prince George RB’s hands and took off down the field.


 

The win over Prince George upped the Generals record to 8-0 this season.
