		<description><![CDATA[Dinwiddie DB Tavaras Johnson will play football at Division 2 Chowan University.]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Dinwiddie Generals DB Tavaras Johnson will play football next season at Chowan University.</p>
<p>Johnson finished this season with 44 tackles and 6 INTs, including 2 that he returned for TDs.  He also caught 5 passes for 96 yards on offense.</p>
<p>Johnson will join two former Dinwiddie teammates at Chowan, Nick Watts and Jason Ampy.  Both  started last season for Chowan.</p>
<p>Tavaras carries a 3.0 GPA and was a 2nd team All Central District selection.  This winter he also was a Central District champion in wrestling.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Dinwiddie Generals will be well-represented when the gridiron All-Stars of the state of Virginia take the field for the 2011 VHSCA All-Star Game.</p>
<p>RB/LB Andre Thweatt and QB Chris Hall will proudly represent the Generals in the game on July 15 at Hampton University.</p>
<p>The game will feature some of the top high school stars the state of Virginia has to offer.</p>
<p>Thweatt will play on the defensive side of the football at LB, while Hall will plat TE in the game, the position he will most likely play at the collegiate level.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Following their 12-1 season and State Semi-Finals appearance, several Dinwiddie players were rewarded with individual recognition on the All Central Region team.</p>
<p>The Generals landed 4 players on the All Central  1st Team Offense &#8211; LT Denny Vaughan, RB Andre Thweatt, TE Trey Gardner, and WR Drakar Harvell.</p>
<p>On the defensive side of the football, the Generals were represented by 2 players &#8211; DE Corey Marshall and LB Andre Thweatt.  Thweatt&#8217;s selection as a 1st Team All Region on both sides of the football was particularly impressive.  He was the only player in the Central Region to be honored in this manner.</p>
<p>Dinwiddie head coach Billy Mills was chosen as the Central Region&#8217;s Division 5 Coach of the Year.</p>
<p>The Central Region Offensive Player of the Year Award went to Hermitage QB Brendan Riddick.  Hermitage LB Curtis Grant was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year.</p>
<p>Representing the Generals on the All Region 2nd Team were QB Chris Hall, CB Brandon Taylor  and DT Diante Monroe.  Also selected were 1st Teamers Corey Marshall and Drakar Harvell.  Marshall was chosen 2nd team for his efforts on offense at guard, while Harvell was named 2nd team as a kick returner.</p>
<p>Dinwiddie center Taquan Kates was also recognized with an Honorable Mention All Region selection.</p>
<p>The Generals also had 3 players recognized for their combined efforts on the field and in the classroom as Marshall, Taylor, and Kates were all named to the Central Region All Academic Team.</p>

<p>A former NUC Standout, Marshall committed to Virginia Tech in June and entertained 11 other D1 offers prior to announcing he&#8217;ll be a Hokie. As a senior this past season, Marshall ended his high school career with a bang, totaling 122 tackles and 13.5 sacks, guiding his team to an outstanding 12-1 record. The 6&#8217;2 240 lb standout was also recognized by various recruiting bureaus as one of Virginia&#8217;s top recruits.</p>
<p>&#8220;Corey is a rising star and we&#8217;re thrilled to have him in the game,&#8221; said NUC CEO &amp; President David Schuman, who witnessed Marshall dominate the Hampton Roads combine as a sophomore. &#8220;I&#8217;ve already seen what he can do and I can promise you that he&#8217;s going to bring a great level of intensity from the opening kickoff.&#8221;</p>
<p>The<a href="http://www.nationalunderclassmen.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=23100&amp;ATCLID=204977301"> NUC All-World Gridiron Classic</a> will showcase 114 elite high school seniors from all across the globe in a unique All-Star Game. Players from the two squads, Team NUC &amp; Team World, will be drafted from the ground up by the coaching staff to ensure a level playing field. There will also be a full week of events leading up to game day for select All-World Underclassmen including 7 on 7&#8242;s, linemen challenges and a combine.</p>
<p>Commits to the NUC All-World Gridiron Classic include Nationally-Rated Defensive Lineman and North Carolina bound Devonte Brown (Fayetteville, NC), Oklahoma commit Kameel Jackson (Arlington, TX) and wideout Junior Pomee (Moreno Valley, CA) amongst others.</p>
<p>The NUC All-World Gridiron Classic kicks off from Columbia, SC at The Citadel&#8217;s Johnson Hagood Stadium Friday, December 31, 2010 at 6 pm ET. The game will be broadcasted on <a href="http://msn.foxsports.com/fcs">Fox College Sports</a>.</p>
