Generals March Over Petersburg 47-13


White and Generals Drop the Hammer On Petersburg

The Dinwiddie Generals moved to 7-0 on the season with a 47-13 road win over Petersburg this past Friday night. Jerrell White scored 3 TDs for Dinwiddie - a 14 yard catch, an 81 yard kickoff return, and a 52-yard punt return.




QB Adam Morgan had a hot hand finishing 21 of 30 for 319 yards and 3 TDs. He also ran 5 times for 40 yards and a TD.



WR Dequan Coles finished with 7 catches for 80 yards and a TD. The touchdown was Coles’ 11th TD catch of the season and he has now scored at least one TD in every game this season for the Generals.


WR Sam Haskins stepped up making 3 catches for 76 yards, including a 45-yard TD catch. It was Haskins’ 3rd TD catch of the season.RB Josh Jones ran the ball 13 times for 109 yards to pace the Dinwiddie running attack.Kicker Chad Jones had a good night, making two 27-yard FG’s and 5 of 6 PAT’s.

Senior safety/RB Wilkie Cox made his 4th INT of the season, while also contributing on offense with 4 catches for 49 yards and 18 yards rushing. Cox also had 60 return yards on the INT he made, which set up a Dinwiddie TD.



The Dinwiddie defense played well once again, limiting Petersburg to just 8 first downs and forcing 3 turnovers. LB Brandon Thomas recorded a sack, while fellow LB’s Terry Harris, Jimmie Simmons, Bradley Johnson, and Jason Ampy all played well.


CB Derrick Day had several key pass breakups and the Generals got key plays from a plethora of players on the defensive side of the football.This week Dinwiddie will play Prince George(4-3). The game will take place Friday night (October 26th) at Prince George High School. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm.

Dinwiddie Dismantles Thomas Dale 41-6


Perfect Protection - Morgan Gets Time to Throw…

The Dinwiddie Generals rolled to the first 6-0 start to a season in school history by knocking off Thomas Dale High School 41-6 last Friday night.

Dinwiddie dominated on the ground, rolling up 264 yards rushing against the Knights. Wilkie Cox led Dinwiddie with 97 yards rushing on 9 carries. Josh Jones finished with 73 yards on 10 carries, and QB Adam Morgan ran 10 times for 89 yards. Both Morgan and Cox had 2 rushing TDs.

Morgan finished the night 17 of 27 passing for 142 yards and 2 TD passes, one to Dequan Coles(his 10th TD catch of the season) and one to Bradley Johnson (his 2nd of the season).

Jerell White led the Generals in receiving yards with 63 on 4 catches.

The Dinwiddie defense held Thomas Dale to just 163 total yards on the evening and forced 5 turnovers.

Senior NG Darius Miles had 6 tackles, a sack, and forced and recovered a fumble. LB Terry Harris made 5 tackles and forced 2 fumbles for the Generals.

This week Dinwiddie puts their 6-0 record on the line against Central District rival Petersburg this Friday night at Petersburg.

Dinwiddie Rolls Colonial Heights 54-0

The Dinwiddie Generals rolled over Colonial Heights Friday night in this season’s homecoming game, 54-0.

Sophomore RB Josh Jones carried the ball 13 times for 105 yards and 2 TD’s to lead the Generals offensive attack. Senior WR Dequan Coles caught 2 TD passes giving him 9 on the season, and QB Adam Morgan threw for 4 TD passes giving him 19 this season.

Juniors Jerrell White and Pierre Hawkes made big plays on special teams, both scoring touchdowns. White’s came on a 57 yard punt return, while Hawkes recovered a blocked punt in the endzone. Junior Sam Haskins caught a 20 yard touchdown from Morgan, and Bradley Johnson caught a 4 yard touchdown pass, also from Morgan.

The win over Colonial Heights gives the Generals a 5-0 record. It is the first time in school history the team has won it’s first 5 games of the season.

This week Dinwiddie matches up with Thomas Dale. The game will be Friday night at Dinwiddie High School. As usual, kickoff is slated for 7:30pm.

Dinwiddie Dismantles Matoaca. 49-21




The Dinwiddie Generals used a 28-point, 7 and a half minute 2nd quarter explosion to take control of their Central District battle against the Matoaca Warriors, and cruise to a 49-21 victory.The Generals were led by senior RB/safety Wilkie Cox. Cox was a dual threat on offense catching 8 passes for 98 yards and a TD, while also running the ball 7 times for 46 yards and a TD. On the defensive side of the ball Cox also made 5 tackles, had a Sportscenter-worthy interception, and forced and recovered a fumble.Explosive senior WR Dequan Coles had another big game, making 5 catches for 123 yards and 2 TD’s. Coles showed his big play ability on a 70 yard bomb from QB Adam Morgan early in the 2nd quarter.QB Morgan had a big night through the air finishing 19 of 30 for 277 yards and 5 TD’s.

WR Jerell White made 5 catches for just 27 yards, but had 2 TD’s and also carried the ball 2 times for 12 yards. Sophomore RB Josh Jones chipped in with 28 yards rushing on 7 carries and also had a 4 yard TD run.

Defensively, the Generals used a swarming defense to harass the Warriors into 5 turnovers - 2 INTs and 3 recovered fumbles. Junior LB Bradley Johnson recorded 10 tackles and had an INT. DE Stephon Luccess and NG Darius Miles each had a sack.

The win over Matoaca makes the Generals 4-0 for the first time since 1979. Their next game will be this Friday against Colonial Heights.
