More Camp News - UVA
We had a good showing at the UVA passing tournament and Big Man challenge (which defensive linemen Corey Marshall, Greg Guyette, Dionte Monroe, Brian Belangia, and Keith Pettiway attended).
The 7 on 7 crew did well, but did not see the same success they had seen at the beach two weeks prior. The defensive line did a great job especially Corey Marshall who picked up his first two offers from Virginia Tech and University of Virginia on that same day.
The offensive linemen had a great showing as they attended the Southern Virginia Lineman Camp at Central High School in Victoria for the third year in a row.
Generals Visit Troy
The Generals have almost completed camp season with a busy month of June. Coach Edwards, Tortorice, Massello, and myself took 27 players down to Troy University in Troy Alabama for a intense 3 day camp session.
Myself and Coach Edwards were instructors while first year offensive coaches Tortorice and Massello followed the kids and soaked in the knowledge. I received many, many complements on our teams character and ability from the coaches at Troy as well as the other members of The System coaching staff.
Me and Coach Edwards spent another week down there the following week as instructors, while there Dinwiddie Alumn Sam Haskins reported for summer school and we got to spend some time with him while we were there. The System invited all of our offensive coaches to work the system camp in Conneticut the end of this week.
