2009 Dinwiddie Football Banquet
This past Sunday Dinwiddie County Football held its annual football banquet. All levels of the program from the 7th/8th to the varsity were recognized. 7th/8th grade coach Rick Beville recognized the undefeated 7th and 8th grade program and presented the captains award to offensive lineman Devyn Marshall. Varsity awards were given as follows:
Scholar Athlete Recipients - Anthony Jones, Timmy Ming, Keith Pettaway, Eder Lopez, Corey Marshall, Brandon Taylor, Joe Taylor, Taquan Kates, Bryan Finney, Darius Johnson, Jacory Fitzgerald, Daniel Buenrostro, Ronald Cunningham, and Jamar Hinton.
Scholar Athlete Award - Joseph Taylor and Brandon Taylor both of which carry a 4.33 GPA
General Awards:
Top Wide Receiver - Quintaze Jackson
Top Running Back - Chris Hall
Top Offensive Lineman - Denny Vaughan
Top Linebacker - Darec Brooks
Top Defensive Back - Deandre Allen
Top Defensive Lineman - Corey Marshall.
Predator Award (Defensive MVP) - Corey Marshall
Top Gun Award (Offensive MVP) - Quintaze Jackson
Hard Corps Award (Special Teams MVP) - Quintaze Jackson
General Award (Best exemplifies what it means to be a Dinwiddie General Football Player) - Jason Ampy
Also announced were 2010 Unity Council (Captains) Candidates: Corey Marshall, Chris Hall, Deandre Allen, Brandon Taylor, Denny Vaughan, Andre Thweatt, Drakar Harvell, Trey Gardner, Darec Brooks, Joseph Taylor, Taquan Weaver, Taveres Johnson, Darius Johnson, Toddric Bugg, Deontre Scott, and Brian Finney.
