Dinwiddie Defeats Clover Hill 34-27

A dominant 4th quarter performance led the Dinwiddie Generals to a 34-27 home victory over Clover Hill to open the 2007 football season.

QB Adam Morgan completed 17-27 passes for 222 yards and 5 TD passes. WR’s Dequan Coles and Jerrell White provided a big play spark for the Generals. Coles made 4 catches for 96 yards and 3 TDs(7,18,62). White made 6 catches for 87 yards and 2 TDs(14,57). Senior RB Wilkie Cox ran for 47 yards and also had 25 yards receiving.

The Dinwiddie defense turned it up a notch in the 4th quarter to lock down a victory for the Generals. Senior DE Deshawn Mason and sophomore LB Jason Ampy anchored the Dinwiddie attack up front, while cornerbacks Derrick Day and Pierre Hawkes made several key plays to slow the Clover Hill passing attack.

The Generals will look to move to 2-0 Friday Sept 7th at home against Greensville County. Kickoff will be at 7:30 pm at Dinwiddie County High School.
